For months I’ve been reading posts from Vita supporters stating that its fortunes would turn around in Japan when certain games were released. Well, I would have thought now would have been the right time for those games to have been released as those weekly sales numbers are abysmal given the time of year.In NZ the Vita is now cheaper than the 3DS and it also comes with a free game, its an incredible deal and I’m sure its helping sales but it has me worried about whether or not retailers are ditching Vita support. Harvey Norman, Noel Leeming, The Warehouse and even DSE have little to no shelf space dedicated to the Vita. JB-HiFi has some shelf space set aside but traded in games take up more space than new ones. There is very little in store advertising drawing people to even look at the Vita as it all seems to be iPad this and iPhone that.The Vita is sorely lacking a must have game to help it sell this Christmas. COD could have been it but really, its average at best. Vitas other big games are also available on th PS3 which you can buy new for even less than a Vita! I’m not saying the Vita has no games but where is that high profile must have game that puts the Vita back onto the radar for Christmas shoppers?
